My 2016 Expedition makes this sound when i first start the truck, havent timed how long it does but i would guess around 30-45 seconds. Is this normal? I never really paid enough attention to notice it before but im not sure if i am just being paranoid. Any help is appreciated this is my first Ford vehicle and first truck ever.

Maybe check the usual suspects. Oil level, failed oil filter valve, metal shavings in oil, worn bearing on accessory item, or worn belt. That it goes away so quickly makes it tough to diagnose.

Sounds like the fuel pump. It is normal and amplified when you record it. Also, check for loose heat shields and the belly panel under the engine.

May want to have the cam phasers check by a real mechanic…
When the start going out you’ll get a rattling sound on start up.
The longer it has been shut down the longer the noise will last.. usually just a few seconds

I had a very similar sound develop on my 2017. It was the fuel line vibrating against something. If you get under the drivers side while it’s making the noise see if you find the black fuel line that may be the culprit. If thats it, put a zip tie around the fuel line and the two evap hoses coming out of the fuel tank, which should keep the fuel line from vibrating.

I should clarify that it only does this upon remote start. Starting the truck normally doesn’t seem to reproduce the same sound.
