My expedition has been experiencing some random electrical issues. We first noticed the power running boards would work intermittently. Then we noticed whenever the running boards weren’t working, there would be a couple of different blind spot alarms on the dash that would come in as well. Then we realized the power locks, the power windows, as well as the radio all don’t seem to work whenever the running boards have issues. We took it to the dealer and the only issue they found was the negative battery clamp was loose but the clamp can’t be tightened anymore so currently the clamp is loose while I wait for the new one to show up. However, while I have been waiting for the clamp to show up, I noticed that theses issues always seem to happen when someone is in the driver seat and they get out of the car while it’s still running. I did a little bit of experimenting and would apply a little pressure on the driver seat and that would cause the blind spot alarms to come in. Can someone tell me how this would be related and what I could possibly do to troubleshoot further?

I would wait till the new negative terminal is installed and tight and the battery is fully charged. Too often many of us with 4th generation Expedition have notice random electrical issues that ultimately trace back to battery issues.

While you are at it take both battery cables off and clean the clamps and the battery posts. Also make sure the battery is still good.
