Synopsis:On Oil consumption problem
2018 Expedition Ecoboost
Mileage: 6943

Failed oil consumption test used 1 quart in 600 miles.

Miss fires on number 4( driver side cylinder)

Ford mechanic put dye in oil and used UV light determine oil leakage into number 4.

Passed compression test

Removed exhausted manifold

Determine that oil leakage was also on exhaust valves.

Determine that cylinder walls was not damaged.

Replaced driver side cylinder head due to valve seats leaking.

I am hopeful that this fixed the oil consumption problem.

Any discussion of collateral damage from oil damaging the cats or any sensors that should also be replaced so you don't have a surprise down the road?

Good luck there. If it would have been 200 miles more,800vs600, they would have done 0. They have 800 as the magic normal #. Your going to have to be real **** about records, both paper, and digital. I've never heard of a valve guide or seal failing that soon. But then again, this isn't the good old days, when parts lasted.
