I purchased '18 XLT with 114k miles. It's been rattling since then with 125K miles now mostly highway. It has original Phasers. I live in Springfield (central) IL. Can anyone recommend a Dealership to trust for this work? I'm not comfortable with local Dealership Service dept.
Thanks in advance for inputs.

Does it also rattle when idling? Or only at a start up?

if I were you, I would drive the 3 hrs and take it to Brian, BSG Automotive. People ship their cars from Florida for him to do the work. He has a popular YouTube channel that specializes in Ford.

Only at start up. Sometimes a lot, sometimes little. I want to have the issue and timing chain resolved. It's going to need the left side "valve cover" replaced due to hairline crack near front also.
I seem to remember a video from BSG pointing out new style Phasers. I will try to locate them. Thank you.

Find s performance shop that specializes in the 3.5. There are multiple things the good shops do to basically bulletproof the 3.5.

The most current phasers are apparently key to fixing but part numbers need to be checked lots of old faulty phasers still getting sold to unwary people. Replace the plastic timing guides with the 5L metal guides
Replace the coolant line quick connects with the current part/fix. Then that seems to address all the issues for the most part. Transmission is a different story..

I have contacted BSG per Soliyou's suggestion. I had seen Youtube from them while researching Phaser problem and lost it. So this is all good. Waiting to hear back from them to set up Service.
Thanks for sharing the wisdom. I will have them bring my recent purchase into good health.
