Anyone out there replaced the coilovers on the expedition stealth? Im looking to improve the stiff sporty ride. Ive already sold the 22" and got some 20" rims and running BFG K03 tires. The ride is rough, can feel every bump in the road. I do not have the CCD suspension option. Can that be added or would it be better to go with some aftermarket shocks? The lincoln navigator and my f150 with 2.5" level ride so much better than the expedition with stealth package.

Do you have the HD towing package too?

I've seen some videos that say the Eibachs feel "softer" than Bilsteins, but have no direct personal knowledge.

What tire pressure are you running? Might drop down some PSI. Maybe even drop down to 18" wheels?

if yours doesn’t have CCD and does have Heavy Duty trailer tow, that ride would be sporty but harsh, just like mine. I can yank that thing around around corners, it isn’t funny. But a comfy ride on some rougher roads, nope. Mine is just about as harsh than my GT500 lowered on Eibach’s.

You gotta figure out what your going to use it for. I just bought a stealth with CCD and the ride is firm and handling is great. I'm thinking you are going in the wrong direction with the tires to get a softer ride. As was suggested, try a set of Michelins. To find out how your truck is equipped run the VIN# at the dealer. Perhaps on line.

These Icon coilovers should bolt right in, listing says they are for a 4WD vehicle but there's really no difference on the expedition between a 2WD and 4WD vehicle minus the transfer case and front axles. There are no suspension differences between 2018-2024.

I am running the front units on mine currently and really like them. Will likely upgrade the rears too in the near future.

APEX - how good are they? I’ve been eying them for years and always wondered if they are really worth the money. That’s a lot of cheddar..

I love the feel of them, I can adjust the dampening rate from soft to firm for those quick hits such as potholes or road imperfections. They soak up hits and don’t transfer the harshness through the cab. I agree they are pricey but besides Kings, there is nothing like them available for this generation expedition.

I changed out the BFG K03(296 60 r20) tires for a toyo RT trail(275 60 r20) and the ride is Night and Day better!! Running 35 psi in the Toyo tires and its a game changer! Might actually keep the truck now!

The BFGs were 10ply and the new toyos are either 4 or 6 ply. Either way it rides 100x better than before on these softer tires!

The ply difference will absolutely be noticeable. Going from what was probably a load range E tire to an LT tire will make the ride feel plush, compared to the stiff E range tires.

While I don’t think there are suspension differences between the years, there are differences between the trim levels and having HD trailer tow or not. Same with the sway bars.
