Hey all, I was just curious how these trucks are leasing and whether there are decent purchase incentives on them. If you don’t mind, list your truck/package and what kind of a deal you were able to get. I will be replacing two vehicles in the next year, so I’m shooting for one cross over and one full sized suv.

They start at 50k and top off in the 85k range... you can go rob a bank either way.

If you’re like most of us, you won’t need to rob a bank. See, these trucks are for people with a lot of kids. Which means most of us can afford to hand over our firstborn, because after all, if we didn’t have plenty of spares, we wouldn’t need an 8 passenger vehicle...

You know, you would think a car made for a family would be priced in the cheaper side due to the fact that when you have a big family your spending are much higher than just a couple with one or no kids. Anyways let's see if we can convince him to at least go rob a 7/11 lol

Yes, Ford should price it cheaper so big families can afford it. Ford can absorb the loss by charging single people more. Or, you get what you pay for and buy what you can afford.

Im leasing an Infiniti with an msrp around 50k for 1k down and 280 a month. An explorer with an msrp around 50k bounces that monthly payment up to 600 a month tax included (lowest I found). So there’s some variation between makes and models. I assume a near base expedition will be at least 650-700 a month, but want to know if anyone could work out better numbers and how. To be perfectly honest, I’m not familiar with purchasing a new car, so I wanted to weigh out that option too

That’s what they make minivans for... And Ford makes the Transit vans. A family at my son’s school drives a Transit, but they have like 8 or 9 kids.

Lease deals change with time so its good to shop around leases at specific times like holidays and model year end events. I decided to lease because i didnt want to pay the bank to buy my truck amd also these vehicles change or update too often, i can "rent" it for 3 years and if i like i buy at a way better price point or trade for a more updated car

Leasing's not a bad deal if you don't mind paying a lot more for using the car, in exchange for the perceived flexibility a lease offers. Certainly no way to financial independence though.

I have to admit I've never studied leasing a car, so I probably have misconceptions. But here's my take on them. You get to basically pay a fee that is against MSRP, then you're not allowed to drive the car very much at all, then when you turn it in your paying the dealer again for what he wants to pay you for that car or you get to pay a dealer price again to purchase it from him. So what is wrong with that analysis?

I know two people who lease Cars. One has more money than you know who, and the other thinks it's a good deal if he wants a new car every 3 years.

I used to lease, but leasing sucks because cars do not appreciate in value. I got a new car every three years but make sure it isn’t damaged or over mileage or the interior is worn when you turn it in because you will pay for it. Plus, you either have to pay or finance into the lease the initial down payment/set up fee, which is usually a couple of thou.

Your better off buying and then doing a private sale to pay it off after three years and go get another new vehicle one if you really have to have a new vehicle every three years. If your lucky you zero out, if not the hole you dug yourself is not nearly so deep as the hole the dealership will dig for you.

The purchase incentives are pretty good in the Atlanta area (we're also X-Plan, so that helps!). Part of the incentive expires today, so I'm hoping that whatever takes effect tomorrow will be good - maybe better - since the model year is closing out in about a week. We never consider leasing since it feels like throwing $$$ away. We typically keep cars longer, although this is a unique case where I want to unload my Durango after only 4 years (bought it used, which is truthfully the best way!). Are there specific reasons you would want to lease?
