4x4 ingage without turning selector switch?

my 01' has just got a mind of its own. it started to switch into 4x4 mode without turnung the selector switch. this is very annoying on the street,and besides its not supposed to do that. please help if can!

My 2003 has done that; just once on the Sonoran Pass in CA. I thought I wasn't going to make it over some of those "humps"....couldn't get a run at the next rise because of the hair pin turns at the beginning of the rise.

It hasn't done it since.

I have had other problems; had to have the complete dash replaced (electronics) because I ran into Cheney's radar protection north of Jackson Hole, WY a couple of years ago.

If your avatar is your expy, then you have some serious mods there. I would start with the switch and vacuum lines and work my way down to the xcase.
