Once a month I crawl under my 07 Expedition looking for leaks. I will make sure to keep an extra eye on transmission cooler lines in the future. Though my year of vehicle wasn't mentioned in the video, I will still take a proactive approach. Great video....... Thanks!

Well I was changing the oil today and just happened to check out my transmission cooler lines since I was down there. Wow!!! How this didn't come off (and take the transmission with it), I have no idea!

Does anyone have suggestions on how to repair this, short of a OEM replacement of the entire assembly? I am thinking that critical junction, high pressure oil tubing and clamps. TIA

I'm sure you could rig up something with some clamps and hose, but the "proper OEM" repair is to replace the entire hard line back to the transmission. I have mine jury-rigged with 5-6 stainless clamps for the time being, until I get around to replacing it.

It can easily be repaired with hose and clamps. That's how the world does it. I put a little flare on the metal tube where I connect the hose to help secure it. As Mr. Dave says, the proper way is to replace the lines.

I just noticed two very small drips on my garage floor yesterday. Crawled underneath and one of those pressed on fittings was just slightly damp (I don't think I have even a measurable leak right now / yet). Is it the aluminum crimp part that fails normally? And if so, would it be in any way helpful to slide a screw-type clamp over it just to be sure it doesn't split and shoot off? Or is that too much wishful thinking?

On mine the aluminum crimp failed. Hose clamps would be better than nothing, mine is still held together like that.
