I have a 2007 Expedition Limited that's still under warranty (I also have the extended factory warranty.) A couple months ago, I took the car in because the AC was just not cold, at the coldest setting with the recirculation on, it just had slightly cool air (similar to the feeling of a swamp cooler) Even after 15 minutes in the car with the AC at max, you were sweating.

The dealer diagnosed the problem as an expansion valve, and replaced it under warranty. The car felt cooler (though not ice cold) Now the same thing is happening, the car is putting at cool air that isn't adequate. (I have other cars, so I know how cold a proper AC unit should be, I've also had two previous Expeditions. Also, other passengers have noticed, and the car also has extra dark tint)

The dealer this time is saying it's working properly. I put a vent thermometer on, and at idle with MAX ac it was around 60 degrees. I've owned other cars that were around 40 degrees at the vent, and these were vehicles that had much smaller condensers.

What's up with the AC on these units? Do I need to add on an secondary electric pusher fan on the condenser?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the help.

they could have overcharged or under charged the system or put too much oil in the system... try stating the car with ac on and see if the dryer gets.cold to the touch if not or it gets warm the system needs evaced and recharged

i think that you might have a leak so you can test this by going cheap and getting a/c leak detector at a part store. if theirs a leak present then you half to take it o be fixed. another could be take it to a shop and have it serviced and tell them whats happening. try to get some second opinion to other auto repair mechanic.

The first thing that I'd do, is take it to another dealer. Service departments are not all created equal.

if it has rear air what is the readings from the back? I have seen some that the rear expansion valve was the culprit. if you suspect a leak ck the lines running to rear air have seen some rub holes through tubes.
