Looking for help as to why my 2007 Expedition chugs when I press the on the gas slightly at while traveling around 1,500RPM. Yes the whole truck shakes. Also if I floor it from a stop it almost dies.

When's the last time spark plugs were changed? Do you have a check engine light and if so what codes are you getting?

Not sure when/if the previous owner had it done. It has 136,000 on it. I was leaning towards the plugs but when scanned nothing shows up. I would think if it were a miss I would see a check engine light.

When you are in a safe place without traffic, drive it with it chugging long enough for the CEL to come on. Then go read the codes.
You are not trying to tear something up, just get the computer to see the problem.

It has to record a certain number of misfires before it'll throw a code. Chances are it's missing at the higher rpms, but it's more random and you just don't feel it.

My 2007 xlt el was doing the exact same thing. One day it was pi$$ing me off so I just floored from a dead stop and it started to sputter and jerk all the way to 70 mph. After doing that a couple of times it finally threw a misfire code for no 4 and no 6 cylinders. New plugs and accel coils and right side cat. Runs like new again, 10.000 mi ago.
