Air Ride Help Plz!

2007 expy el limited here. Rear air ride has been going out. Wouldnt stay up w engine off, would air up fine when running. Then compressor died (due to overuse I'm sure). Replaced it, knew I still had a leak. Then it stopped airing up. I turned the air suspension 'off' to try and save the compressor. Now it airs up almost fully when running with air suspension 'off'! I didnt think the compressor would run w system turned off. I was about to drop the 5+ bills on new air strut assemblies from suncore but am now confused. Could it be a control module? I don't know the entire system but am ready to fix it myself. Any advise is greatly appreciated. I want to keep the air ride.

When the vehicle hits a certain speed the air ride activates. Forget which speed, but, its in the manual

First reply. Newbie here. I have a 2010 and yesterday after work I noticed the driver side rear was sagging really bad. I thought something was severely broken. When I started it back up it aired and has been fine since. Of course it’s only been one day. Hopefully you get more replies to what may cause this. Good luck.
