so i'm a big fan of BF Goodrich A/T tires for my trucks. Still wearing out some crappy OE tires that came on my 18" wheels, but I was planning on getting KO3 LT275/65R18s except I just watched some vids on alternatives... not sure if I wanna go with the HD All Terrain (yes I know more oriented towards F250/F350 applications) or the Trail Terrain 'mall terrain' tires. Wet traction is way important to me than anything as we can get massive rain here on the central coast.

I have the Cooper Discoverer ATP II, special model for Discount Tire Company. As much as I am a fan of them and the cost, I'm not so impressed with their performance in the wet conditions. Can't help with the others, but if you see a lot of rain, then these are not for you.

Just went with the Cooper Road and Trail in part due to their wet weather ratings according to tire rack. We get a good bit of rain in coastal GA. Brand new, but so far they're quiet for an ATish tire.

We have Cooper Discoverer Road and Trail AT's. Bought at Discount Tire. They have been great in the snow and rain.

^^THIS IS WHY THEY DON'T PERFORM WELL"

Cause just like wallyworld's "exclusive" crap tires (and I use that term loosely here), they are made specifically for DTC to hit a certain price point, performance/longevity/safety be damned.....

You'd be way better off buying the "normal" model tires (regardless of the seller), although they will cost a bit more, but will last longer, perform better, and provide a much safer ride overall :D

We have loved our KO3 295/70R18 through the season. Handled snow ice and slush through multiple Tahoe passes plus decent rain around Santa Cruz past couple months. Even did some snowy fire roads in Nevada without issue plus ~3000 highway miles roadtripping. Never any hesitation with any condition!

how are they for highway road noise on the Expedition? I've run KO2's on a Toyota Tacoma 4x4, and a F250 diesel 4x4. I'll probably be running LT275/65R18 on the Expedition.

Road noise for the crossbars is loud enough I don’t notice any tire noise really.

Anyone else have some reviews to add? I'm about to purchase All Terrains as well.

Anyone with complaints about the Wildpeak AT4Ws or Mickey Thompson Bajas?

Trying to find a "do it all" replacement for the factory Hankooks where I wouldn't need snow tires during Midwest winters, could do some light trail driving in sandy dirt, and still do well on dry and wet pavement, I put the Cooper Discoverer Road & Trail ATs on my '18 Limited this past fall.

I find them better than the Hankooks in every way, especially on trail and in snow.

However, in snow I find them a bit of a let down given their 3P rating.

I've got Michelin Cross Climate 2's on my other vehicle and I regret not buying them for the Expy. They perform just as well as the Coopers, if not better, in the other areas but markedly better in snow. There are other threads on here discussing the CC2s

Wish I'd gone with the CC2s instead of those particular Coopers. However, the CC2s aren't marketed as an AT so they might not be what you're looking for.

I've had Continental TerrainContact A/T tires on for maybe 6 months and are pleased with them. Have no idea what, if any, A/T capability they have as the most they've had to handle here in Richmond is a tiny bit of snow/ice and, of course pollen. Tows my travel trailer just fine.

I've been watching a bunch of youtubes from various tire sites on the various A/T tires... Both BFG vs other brands, and the various new BFGs vs each other (KO2 vs KO3 vs KM3 vs TrailTerrain vs HD Terrain). The more I see, the more convinced I am that the KO3 are the best choice for me as an all arounder. The Falken AT4W are a runner up.

First of all, they are far better than crap tires. I've had them in every single condition including snow and have been overall happy with the performance of them. That said, I also wouldn't rate them a top snow tire, but they got us from Denver to Moab in a snowstorm and I spent all my time worrying about my leaking front camera washer instead of worrying about my traction. That said, if I lived somewhere (not Dallas) that I needed to worry about snow for an entire season, they might not be what I'd recommend.

Same thing goes with the wet performance. It's fine here, but if I lived where OP does, then I might not choose them.

Additionally, these are only my second set of AT tires, first on the Expedition. My other set was BFG's on my 80 series LC. Loved the LC but I doubt it had the power to spin up any tires even on the slickest roads. :D My only comparison on the Expedition is my previous street tires Expedition. On our slick chipseal roads the Expy has plenty of power to spin the back wheels on these tires compared to dedicated street tires.

They are great tires for Texas, my point was that OP might want to look deeper into the performance before making a choice in this direction based on their driving environment.

OK, well of course, everyone is entitled to their opinion, and we both have stated ours, so others here can take them for what they are worth in their respective views.

Conflicting views, when used properly, will often yield objective assessments, which is good for all concerned :D

There is no one tire that is good for everything. I have never been aqble to bring myself to buy Michelin's. Although folks rave about them, I spent too many months in their rubber plantation getting shot at to feel comfortable buying them. When I lived in New England I had a set of Blizzak's for winter, and a set of Cooper's for summer. Of course that was 20 years ago.

I had the Wildpeak AT4 and they handled everything well. But they were a little loud on the highway.

I’ve got the Wildpeak AT/4’s on my 2024 Timberline 305/65/18.

They ride good, wearing good and not much noise.
