TOE DIRT
I drive a 2004 Ford Expedition xlt 4wd. I wear suede and nubuck leather shoes when I drive.
whenever I finish a drive (short or long) there is always dirt or dust on the tip of my shoe at the big toe area (the top left corner of the toe box area of the shoe).
there is never any dirt on any other part of my right shoe and no dirt on any part of the left shoe at all.
my right foot presses the gas pedal and my left presses the brake pedal
this is the only vehicle that does this to my shoe and I drive many cars everyday as I am an auto auction usher.
can anyone please help me identify the source or cause of this dirt. I live in Atlanta ga
not very dusty. no dirt roads. no beach sand.

I would get under the dash where the pedals are and hit everything down there with a vacuum and air duster and after that I would hit everything (non electrical) with windex and paper towel and then make sure the pedals and anywhere your foot hits is clean as new... I can't imagine that cleaning won't solve this problem

make sure all the grommets are in place...dirt from the road may be the cause or built up dirt is shaking loose through the holes on to ur foot

Well seeing that it is in Georgia and red clay is everywhere here & your expy is 4wd, I think it wouldn't be much of a stretch to say a previous owner was "muddin down in the bog".
You have some cleaning to do...

figured it out

i found the solution. I simply layed a rubber floor mat on my drivers side floor under the gas/brake pedals and covering the entire floor area from the pedals to the drivers seat.
absolutely no more dust on my shoe.
I don't understand why but this solved the problem instantly
