Everywhere I go recently and they see my expy, they comment on the sleeper aspect of it and then theres the one question that always comes up.

Are you going to lift it??

Is this a requirement for 4x4's ?! LOL.

No plans to right now, thankyou. I mean I really like the way they look and I have considered it but it is contrary to my umm bigger passion?! Hot Rodding !! Power to weight ratio is king..... bigger tires add weight and drag. I realize this is kind of a crazy statement coming from someone who has modified an expy.:Pshyco: Not exactly a lightweight drag car. .....I dunno..... I really enjoyed driving my expy around because of its size and 4wd. So eventually I had to make it a bit faster.

It will see eventually some track time :) Just not before we head off on vacation. I really don't think my tranny will last under full throttle shifts.

I cant wait to see the comments it may get at the track. Must keep hood closed. :) Its going to feel huge there!!

well. just put some gears in it. 4.55 or 4.88s and do a TT and spacers and get some 34s. you will be a big sleeper at the drags. people pulling next to you would be like a lifted tank? no problem! and then you do your burn out. haha :pepper::pepper::pepper::pepper::pepper::pepper: :pepper::pepper::pepper:

If you want the truck lifted, let me know. I"m south of you and have done the lift on many Ford trucks. I did the lift on my Expy. It is cake once you have done one. Granted, plan on the truck being down for a full day (12 hours or so). Just saying. That or let me know and for a reasonable price, you can get a second expy that is already lifted and has the biggest tires that will fit with the lift. Then they won't ask if you are going to lift it. The question always seems to be "How big are those tires?". LMAO.

then you lose the "sleeper" look.... lol.. but I do love that front bumper

Agreed! :hmm: My exhaust is not helping with the sleeper image either. :( Gonna get resonators put in but have my doubts on how much it will help.

I admit im getting old :) But also feel bad when I have my 7yr old daughter in the back seat and its hard to hear her over the exhaust note. If I can tone down the low rpm rumble while cruising I will be happy.

toms89, what muffler are you running? IF you are running a 40/44 series muffler, replace that muffler with a 50 series. i bet you will hear a dramatic difference inside of the truck yet still have the power that you like. Also, where do you have the exhaust dumping out at on your truck?

Not flowmasters..magnaflow. One of the quitest perfomance muffler available according to the custom exhaust shop.

The video really does not do the sound justice. Its much louder in person.

I have a Flowmaster 44 that is very tame, my kids and more importantly my wife haven't complained about it. And I took the whole family out for a weekend camping trip.
