06 expedition, right half shaft releases in 2wd, but not left side. Traced vacuum lines from actuator to right carrier, then over to left carrier, then up along frame rail toward front to - a dangling rubber hose with a snapped off plastic fitting in it.
I suppose if I plug this hose, vacuum would then release both axle shafts, but something went there. Was it a check valve and filter? Would like to do this correctly. Both 4lo and 4 hi and awd function OK, but dragging around the front diff while in 2wd causes both high speed vibration and really bad gas mileage. Help would be appreciated. I have been unable to find a decent vacuum diagram for this puppy.
