Is running an aftermarket wheel with 1.5" less backspacing ( stock 6" to 4.5" ) putting the same stress on front end components as running a stock wheel with a 1.5" spacer ? Seems like it would by the numbers but, everyone always says stay away from spacers and get new wheels. Is there a difference. Wouldn't both produce the same results of where the wheel sits? Thanks for any insight..... Also does running a wider wheel compensate for some of the backspacing or wheel spacer? as far as weight distribution....????? Trying to wrap my brain around it!!!!???/ getting frustrated ....Help.....

wheel spacer and aftermarket rims will put more stress on parts but I'm currently running 10" wide rims and a 1/4 inch spacer up front with no problems... others may disagree but I've ran both and never had any problems

i see where your coming from where people say stay away. these expeditions are built tough. running wider wheels wont hurt the front end much. just keep up with maintenance and itll do fine. and the spacers. people are always saying they break theyre cheap. yes and no. its all about brand. if you were to get them get some name brand spacer. not no walmart or ebay brand. im not bagging on the store or site, just i mean dont get cheezy spacers. ive known a few people that go runn in the desert with their toyotas with 3 inch spacers all weekend perfectly fine. its all about the brand. and the math dose seem right for the back spacing. thats all spacers where ment for. back spacing problems.
