Ater a new battery was install I started to monitor battery voltage to make sure everything was ok.
After driving less than 1 mile the voltage dropped off to 13.0 volts from 14.3 volts. In further test I noticed
the charge rate went to 14.6 volts before dropping to 13.0 volts is it possible the battery voltage goes to high and the BMS
cuts back on the charge rate ? tried a 10 amp charger battery voltage goes to 15.2 pretty quick. Walmart Maxx Battery.

Take the truck to an Auto Zone (just where I go, no affiliation) they can check your alternator on the truck for free.
They check the diodes, voltage regulator and charging. (this also checks new battery)

If all is fine with alternator, do a Voltage Drop Test on your battery cables.

This makes sure everything is getting correct power, then can you move forward with your diagnosis.

If I were here, you would know it !
Walmart Maxx Battery
Your 1st, biggest, & worst mistake EVER !

Been there, done that with my friend's Bronco (the old one, not that new monstrosity). He installed one of those Maxx batteries & soon after started having all kinds of problems that took 3 different auto-electrical shops to figure out... they went through every system in it and could not find anything wrong, but towards the end of the ordeal, I pulled the wallyworld battery & put in a new one from Napa, whah lah, no more problems :)

Doesn't sound terribly abnormal to me - unless you're an engineer then your actions make sense. I'm no engineer but I was a Ford tech for 25+ years - those readings wouldn't concern me.

What you're seeing is the charging voltage, not the battery voltage. Starting the engine only uses a tiny bit of power so only a tiny bit needs to be put back and that can be done at comparatively low voltage.

Batteries charge by voltage differential. Power flows into the lower voltage thing. Fully charged battery is 12.7vDC so 13.0vDC is very slooooooooooooly charging the battery if at all 'cuz it doesn't need charging.

The voltage regulator only puts out enough voltage to run the car and add a bit of charge to the battery. Too high voltage can "boil" the battery.

Yes after new battery has settled out charge rate is constant 14.2 volts all the time which is normal for all cars. Thanks

The is a battery reset, in one of the control modules. I use FORSCAN.
