Has anyone replaced their battery tray (or holddown) in Gen III Expy? I've got an 07 EL and the battery holddown bolt broke when the battery was replaced recently. It doesn't seem like I can get the remains of the bolt out (even after much soaking with penetrating oil). It also doesn't seem like I can get the old tray/windshield washer tank out without a lot of additional work (removing many parts). I tried this past weekend and removed the headlight (need to disconnect the wiring to sensor and ww pump) and upper radiator hose (interference clearing the box) to no avail.
Although the battery tray is essentially a box, I'd feel a lot better knowing the battery is secured better.
Any suggestions?
