My father's 03 Expedition recently died while driving. So instantly thought of alternator got it tested was bad. Got a new one. Tried again and still not charging battery. Changed alternator wiring harness because someone told him it could be that but tried it and battery would not charge. Any ideas on what it could be? Thank you.

Well a bad alternator kills the battery, the possiblity is the battery is now shot and will not recharge any more.

Take the battery off and bring it to autozone and see if they can charge it or if it will not accept a charge.

Easiest checks: Double check the connector at the alternator is clean and seated right. Clean and test battery connections especially if you have changed the ends on the cables. Pull and test the battery. Test the new alternator to double check is charging.

Welcome to the Forum.

Using a volt meter place one lead on the neg battery terminal and the other lead on the Black/Orange wire on the Alternator.
You should read approx. 12 volts.

Then take the lead and put it to the Orange/Light Blue wire of the 3 pin connector on the Alternator.
You should read 12 volts.

If you don't have 12 volts at pin 3 and Depending if you have a early or late production expedition you should have either a fuseable link or a fuse (F-9 10A) that proctects that line.
