Hopefully this clears things up. I have my ABS fuse pulled due to it kicking in at bad times while making right turns, and it's been that way for 2 years (and 2 brutal winters). My A4WD still works fine in the winter, and since mine is a 97, I have a 2H option to confirm that. The way A4WD works is it uses the same wheel speed (ABS) sensors, but disconnecting the ABS fuse does not turn these sensors off, it only keeps the ABS valves from opening/operating. At any given time, the A4WD sends at minimum 10% power to the front, and adds in 10% increments up to 50/50 as the computer senses is necessary.
That being said, fuse 104 will shut off the electromagnet giving you artificial 2wd.
As for the advancetrak, it works by applying the brakes lightly to wheels that are slipping. This would fight with a LSD which is why they don't go together, and I think it was first implemented in Lincolns before Ford used it. My folks 04 expy also has the LSD rear, but is not advancetrak, I think it became an option after 05 but wasn't standard until 07. That's just what I have observed over a few years of studying expy's. Hope all that helps.
