best bet is to buy motorcraft plugs... these motors are very picky I have been also using Autolite Double Platinum (APP103) so far been 6 months and no problems... I would stay away from bosch plugs

I have a 99 4.6, but I put in NGK Platinums this summer and they are doing great. When i changed them, the motorcrafts in there were worn far past when they should have been changed, but still worked good. I was impressed.

It would probably be better to leave it to your mechanic, it took me over 3 hours, and praying I didn't mess anything up.

I used Motorcraft plugs in mine, I look at it like this, if the OEM plugs can go past 100k then they must be a well designed plug. My 99 has 195,000 and still runs like new btw.

Isn't it the stock motorcraft ones that are two piece and break?

The 2 peice Motocrafts that have been known to break are in the newer 3v motors. All of us with the first gen 2v motors do not have to worry about that, all we have to worry about is the plug "spitting" (poping out).
