Like everyone else, looking for some thoughts and advice.
I blew a spark plug this week. Without going into the normal expletives (%$#$%!) about Ford plugs, I screwed the plug back in. I must have some thread remaining because it is still holding after about 100 miles. I also put in one new coil because the original got destroyed during blowout. The truck was running great before the plug flew out but now after I put it back the truck is running rough and, occasionally, the Check Engine light flashes. The light is always on now but never before and it only flashes a short while during driving. Just to be certain that everything was assembled ok, I removed the coil and put it back on today. I did not dare to remove the plug but I have an appointment this week to have the plug-hole rethreaded.
I will have the mechanic look at it this week but I have two concerns:
1) Any thoughts as to why it is running rough now? It idles fine. I know its not the new coil because I checked it with another plug. It sparks fine.
2) What's the danger of the flashing engine light? Can it ruin the caty-converter? How long can I drive it with the occasional flashing? Can it wait 5 more days?
Thanks.

My guess is the spark plug got damaged when it blew out, so the new plug should fix it.
