So I changed out both rear actuators above the passenger rear tire for the AC/Heat and the heat will not blow through the top now, but the AC does. Required the same part number for both.

What the heck? Help please.

Did it blow heat prior to the changing of the actuators? I did mine a while back but seem to remember them being different part numbers... could be wrong though... l'll see if I can find out.

I feel like it did blow heat out from the top and now it just blows ac from the top and when you switch it from ac to heat, it stops blowing from the top as you turn to heat, and the heat blows out from the rear vent, right under where the actuator is that I changed. Ford said it was the same part number. Both have D-shaped inserts.

I have an '03 so probably different but here's what I bought... if it was blowing warm air prior to the change then it's probably one of the actuators you replaced that's causing your problem.

I know the one on the top controls the air flow and the one that’s pinned up against the side controls the hot and cold.

Why would they tell me it was the same part number? I called 2 different ford dealerships just to make sure.

Could very well be the same part number for your year Expy... would make sense but mine has two different ones, but like I said it's an '03 so they may not have been that smart back then :).

Do you know if there is some sort of calibration process for the rear?

Tomorrow I’m doing the ones in the front and saw there was a process for those, but not for the rear.

I didn't need to do one for mine. So you can switch the AC from top to bottom vents (the same bottom vent the heat does blow out of)?

Ok. I originally thought the bad one was the inner one. Changed it out. Turns out, when I started the truck back up, it was still thumping. Ended up being the one on top. I ordered another actuator and replaced the one on top that was really thumping to begin with.

Now, the hot air only blows from the rear vent by the rear passenger tire toward the floor. When it’s on AC, it blows from the top. Is that how it’s just supposed to be, OR is something wrong?

Thanks [emoji31][emoji31][emoji31]

That's weird... with two blend doors... you'd think one is for controlling where the air is blowing out and the other to control the temp. Unless in the newer models they use one for fresh vs cabin air. Oh well, glad it's normal for your model year :)
