Have a 1998 Expedition and the drivers side brake light and blinker don't work, the running light does however, its not the light bulb (got a new bulb, didn't help but then I pulled hte light I know works from the passenger side and it didn't help either) checked a few fuses I figured it could be but looking at the fuse box diagram it doesn't seem like a blown fuse would keep one light from working yet let the other one work just fine.

It has the typical door ajar problem too so I just popped the dome lights out and it shuts off the sensors, works perfectly unless you need the dome lights which you can just keep close by and pop it in when you need it, or just use the lights for the sun visors.

Shpuker, sounds like your multifunction stalk (aka, turn signal) is toast. That is a common problem with our trucks. $70 and about an hour of your time and you can fix it yourself.

Would that cause the blinker to cut out on the back drivers side but not on the front drivers side? As well as cause the brake light on the drivers side not to work.

Shpuker, yes it will. There are 4 contacts inside of the multifunction switch that control the turnsignals/brake lights. One goes to each corner of the truck. If you have a bad contact, that will only affect 1 corner.

On those same lines, something I would recommend you check is that the hazard switch is pulled all the way out. It is possible that if that gets pushed in slightly, it can break the wiring going to 1 or more corners of the vehicle, leading to what you are seeing.

Ah I gotcha, I shall take a peak at that then. And already checked the emergency flashers, wd40ed it and all that good stuff.

Found the culprit, one of the wires that connects to the turn signal was pulled loose, Figure they were trying to fix the gear selector (cause its lined up a slot away from where it should be so when it says reverse its in park and when its in neutral it says its in drive) and couldn't figure out how to get the top half of the steering column cover off and wound up pullin it out on accident.
