Brake Pedal Press - Click like solenoid noise

Not sure if this has been since I purchased it but once I notice it I hear it more often.

When at lower speeds like 30 mph and I press the brake pedal I hear a click behind the dash or under the car (not sure where it is coming from) but it sounds 100% like some relay or selenoid. It does NOT do it when higher speeds and pressing the brake.

I think its normal some solenoid used for some feature. The Expys are so quiet that I hear water bottles in the cup holders rattling.


Anyone else notice this click?

My expy has been perfect zero issues since purchase 10k miles ago! Very pleased overall.

I think what you are hearing is the shift lock solenoid. When in park you have to press the brake pedal to shift out of park. I can hear it sometimes when I’m in park, but don’t remember hearing it while driving!

It could also be the brake operating light switch, I hear mine click when I press the brake pedal, but it happens at any speed for me!!

OP did you get an answer to this? I get multiple clicks when pressing the brake pedal. Happens in park, happens when driving. More frequent at slower speeds but also light presses at 25+ mph. Coming from the brake pedal area.
