Camera issue

We bought an 08 Kings Ranch EL a few weeks ago and I'm having some troubles with the back up camera. It has the one from the factory where the screen is in the rear view mirror. It has been working but there have been two days where it would not. The screen light light up vaguely but I couldn't see anything and I cant figure out what caused the camera to do this. The first time I fixed it my opening the tailgate and closing it and the camera started working again. Haven't tried it a second time. Anyone have the same problems??

I haven't but the first thing I suspect is either a loose connection or broken wire at the flex point where the wire passes from the liftgate into the body.
