Finally got around to installing the baby monitors in our Expedition. We previously had this setup in our Bronco, where the install was much easier because it had a dash USB port and a regular threaded mounting point. I wanted the wires to be as hidden as possible while still keeping the monitor easy to remove and adjust. For road trips, my wife likes the monitor positioned toward the passenger seat (where she sits) while I drive. However, for regular daily commutes, she wants it visible from the driver’s seat (as this is her daily).

With the amount of screen space in the Expedition, it took some trial and error to find a good mounting location that would not block our view or interfere with any of the screens.

Baby monitor: https://amzn.to/4uEsf9h -> We have two kids, but the monitor can also be used with just one camera. The power button cycles between Camera 1, Camera 2, or both cameras on screen.

The mount is straightforward. It comes in two pieces, clamps around the screen, and tightens with a screw. It can also be flipped to either side compared to the Amazon pictures, had no problem installing it "backwards"

For power, the monitor plugs into the cigarette lighter inside the glove box. The cables have enough slack that the center console can still move back and forth without pulling on them. Not fully hidden, but it works.

One helpful thing I noticed is that there are slots that allow cables to route into the console area from the rear seats. For our toddler’s camera, the cable runs down the side of the seat and into the console.

For our newborn’s camera, the cable runs between the rear seats, under the all-weather floor mats, and then up to meet the other camera cable.
