I like to keep the climate settings to Dual so I can have different temperatures for each side. I've discovered that setting to Dual will rest to Sync periodically and for no particular reason. It's been to the dealer twice now. It still will not hold a Dual setting until I change it. Anyone else seen this? It's a trivial annoyance but annoying none the less. In NY not fixing something by the third time makes the vehicle an official lemon! Thoughts?

Operating as designed is my guess. What a trivial thing to consider lemon law over, not to mention it would probably fail.

Do you remote start the vehicle? Do you have the climate set to Auto for remote start?

The event is not random, you or the dealership just haven't figured out what set of events triggers it to reset to the default, which is synced temps. Computers don't do things "randomly", even random number generators are programmed.

Trivial is in the eye of the beholder. Fail? I doubt it. I've had three lemon vehicles replaced, how many have you? One was even shipped to Korea to replace the lemon.
No remote starts. You are correct about random number generators are programmed but programs do things based on input. Since nothing has been identified to cause it to happen I'd say it is caused by an unknown issue. I'm just looking to see if anyone else may have experienced this.

Having to press a button every now and then to have to Sync/UnSync the climate controls is trivial in ANYBODY's definition. Sorry, reality speaking. You yourself even called it that in your Original post. I have NEVER heard anybody doing a Lemon law over such a stupid thing. I have never personally had a vehicle lemon lawed, based on this scenario, I am in no way surprised you have had 3 done.

It's a trivial annoyance but annoying none the less.

I have though been used as a expert witness because of my experience in tuning and computer systems, on both sides to prove/disprove tuning and tampering with coding on various vehicles. Mostly Fords. In one case I was used to prove to Ford corporate that a vehicle had indeed not been attempted to be tuned, but an OTA had caused the issue.

Good Luck. Not sure if I have heard of this issue, but have you taken it to more than one dealer, maybe a fresh set of eyes would do well on the issue. In addition, I assume they have done all of the updates on the modules that FDRS has available for your VIN?

The NYS Lemon Law is applicable to issues that keep the car
"out of service to the owner a cumulative total of 15 days or more."
And:
"The problem does not substantially impair the value of the car to the consumer."

No used car dealer is required to warranty the heater.

Good luck trying to pull this trick in New York.

My 2019 automatically disables the dual anytime the passenger adjustment knob is turned.

Edit: disregard, I didn’t read the original post very well.
