I do see a lot w/o the pano roofs, agree on that.

4wd is only attractive to me, if i were to tune the truck and it would be needed for traction, which i doubt since I'm only tuning and not touching the motor otherwise

I've used my Tahoe 4wd 5 times - 4 times for fun, and once on the beach just in case, not even sur if I needed it.

Definitely seeing a lot of sub-$40k XLT's out there
I our market a big vehicle like that as an XLT is just about a no go. Same as having a truck or SUV and only rear wheel drive. Defeats the purpose. Often we don’t even get 2wd offered at all, only AWD. A half ton truck only with 2wd is a practical joke here. Must be a seasonal worker. Lol
The resale value on vehicles like that is just about nothing. Same as a small SUV with a manual gear box. Hardly anybody wants these things. I’d much rather buy an AWD wagon.

Well not all of us live in Canada...................2WD is fine here in the US Sunbelt of the Southeast.
I'm ok not carrying all that extra weight (230lbs) and components to wear out and leak...like transfer case seal (had to replace that on my 2013 F-150 STX 4x4 5.0L , a few years ago....what a piece of garbage that thing was)

I rented a MAX from Enterprise, had every option except the moon roof, so they exist - might have to buy a previous rental?

My Tahoe is a former Hertz truck, and it's been stellar for my 80k miles since 2018

I think, XLT trim without 202A package doesn't come with moon roof.

Wife didn't like parking the MAX we rented, and with no kids, it's jus space we'll never use.

I'm keeping the Tahoe for any home depot/hauling things around runs.

If you do long road trips and camping, the extra cargo space would be useful.

anything above an XLT is going to have a moon roof. I have a 19 XLT, no power running boards, no CCD or HD tow. The latter I wish I had. Has 4x4 but not the 4L or 4H. It does a great job. Leather heated and vented seats, plus heated steering wheel. I have the MAX (since it can take an 8x4), but the non-max XLT I’m sure could be had with the same feature set.

Further, a non-HD tow is likely to be cheaper, as the HD is desirable.

I just checked my order sheet. My vehicle is XLT with 202A. But it doesn't have moon roof. I guess it is a standalone option and I didn't order it.

I 100% agree, in FL the 4x4 is just more crap to break, and more things for my mechanic to have to deal with when servicing it. Differential fluids, transfer case, etc, all that I don't use. A lot of extra things to move or work around too.

When I sell the truck, it will be sold in FL, so next buyer won't care anyways - so less money upfront cost and less money on resale = a wash

My Tahoe 4wd has been used twice in 7 years, and neither time was really needed, just used because beach sand looked soft so what the hell why not.

Also had a valet put my truck in 4wd by accident, and if I hadn't noticed the binding on dry pavement, the wife would have destroyed something expensive.

You might look at Herz sales (from their rental fleet).

I looked at their offerings recently and was impressed, though I ended up going with different options because I wanted some things that aren’t in their standard trim package.

One nice thing, you can filter searching on their multi-state inventory to pull up 4x2.

Also, consider MY ‘23, ‘24 - newer is better, they’ve been improving the 10R80 transmissions.

You might also want to look into a Lincoln badged Expedition. I recently bought a 2022 Lincoln Navigator L 4WD that has everything you are looking for including the smaller 20" rims and lack of sunroof for right at $40K. The Navigator ended up quite a bit cheaper than comparably equipped Expeditions.

I'd love to see the VIN on that build. Likely it's a special fleet build for them.
