Conversation mirror??

I have a 2007 Eddie Bauer EL (Tan interior) and I'm trying to find the conversation mirror for my car. The sunglass holder is useless for my Oakley's but I'd like to be able to see my 9 month old daughter in the backseat. I went to the Ford Dealer and have a called Ford Corp "Customer Service" but the only way to get the mirror seems to be to order the whole upper console which is $300. I really don't want to spend $300, yet I don't want the $5 cheapy Walmart mirror.

Has anyone found one of these and if so, where?

Oh and ford does sell it separately for the Flex but not for the Exp. what gives?

I gutted the mirror out of my housing and I'd be happy to send it to you but you would need to have the door that it fits in with the rounded plastics. I'll see if I can dismantle mine again and take pics.

Might take a Dremel tool, cut out the sunglass holder part, then get a mirror at WalMart or PepBoys, epoxy it in the door.

I'd like it to be OEM...not patched together. If anyone has one to trade for the Sunglass holder that would be better.

check a bone yard. you could prob get the whole overhead console for dirt cheap

Yeah Matt, tired eBay but those don't fit my Expy. I have the EB with the sunroof and extra switches. Can't find a boneyard that has a 3rd gen yet. And Begas sucks for parts yards. Tried so cal but no luck.

try car-part.com you can search yards around the country. even if it doesnt list that exact part you couls search for a diff part to see if they at least have the truck you need.

Scuba, I think you wont find one that is an exact fit because I believe the conversation mirror was only available on ones without the sunroof. What I would do is buy one of the ones on ebay and pull the mirror door part off and swap it with the sunglass holder on yours.

You might want to check back with your source on that. All the info I have seen says the overhead console with the mirror was only available on models with no sunroof ( large console two bins )
If you opted for the sunroof you got the mini-console ( one bin ) which only came with the sunglass holder. I see no where listed saying you could pick mirror or sunglass holder.


If you can order the mirror part seperate in other models (flex?.... ) then you might want to try it as most Ford models 2007 and up used the same "corporate" console, which means they were all the same shell but came with different options based on model ( ie.. switches... )

I have the schematic from ford dealer. You can order it with the mirror or sunglass holder.

Only problem with the other models with the mirror is that it isn't in the same color at my trim
