curious about the front wheel hubs on the gen4 4x4 with the 2 speed transfer case...

I have a 2019 Limited Stealth 4x4, with the HD tow option and the 2 speed transfer case. I'm curious if the front hubs disengage from the front differential when its in 2H ? My 2002 F250 4x4 had the classic manual locking hubs, that also had vacuum locks so you didn't need to climb out and engage/disengage them.

Your truck has the Integrated Wheel End (IWE) vacuum type hub. Ford has been switching to electronic on the MY22 on up I believe. Some don't have it at all now and the hubs are permanently engaged at all times.

By the pictures below, you can see the routing of how the hoses and the system works.

The hub uses vacuum to keep the splines of the axle shaft disengaged. If there is vacuum leak or failure, the hubs will engage and stay that way.
