my slotted and dimpled rotors just came in with semi metalic pads supposely both are premium (pads & rotors),im hearing that the dimples are bad and holds heat and the slots arent really for nothing execpt creating new brake surface.some friends of mine say i shoulda just stuck with regular vented rotors, but living in the city breaking power is everything and having a expo i needed alot more of it did i make a mistake ordering this type of rotor???

they look good but when i order them to be painted zinc black, based on photos i was under the impression that only the slots and dimples were to be zinc black not the entire rotor

is this gonna cause braking issues untill the paint comes off?? will the black paint mess up my pads causing my truck not to stop?

when i called to ask why is both rotors are completely painted black and not just the slots and dimples (like in the pics) i was told it can only be that way and after driving awhile the paint will come off the rotors and only be in the slots and dimples.

thanks for your opinions and views in advance

The zinc coating will wear off after the first brake application. Don't worry about that.
As far as the dimples creating issues, it depends how hard you are on them. If it is regular driving, you'll be fine. If it is fairly spirited driving, they may develop light cracks around the dimples. The dimples are mainly there for looks moreso than function, and will not hold heat in.
The slots allow the gas/heat to escape under braking, therefore allowing for shorter stopping distances as the pad won't "float" over the rotor as much. I wouldn't fret over that at all. It may wear the pads down a bit quicker, but I would take shorter stopping distance over pad wear.

I just installed cross drilled and slotted rotors along with ceramic pads I bought from ebay. The improvement was impressive. You shouldnt have a problem.
