Hi,
does anyone have photos and dimensions of the cargo space after removing both 2nd and 3rd rows of seats?

I have 2012 Expedition XLT (not EL). Last year, I used for camping for a couple of months with 2 of the 2nd row seats removed.
Now I'm thinking if it would be worth to remove the 3rd row as well to get more space for a longer camping road trip.

Thanks

There are various photos in this group of camping conversions as well as third row delete. You can also find youtube videos of SSV vehicles with 3rd row delete being converted back. As far as measurement, you will probably need to make your own. The third row is somewhat irregular as the seats are attached to the front of the arch that covers the differential and spare.

2017 XLT I ripped to two rows of rear seats out long ago. Replaced with a platform. Attached are a few pictures. Under the platform has lots of storage for camping supplies. Front hinge flaps allow access under the platform with the doors closed. The entire platform is level from the front seats to the back flap. It fits a custom cut queen size. I think it's 3x of the thick Walmart queen size mattress toppers, trimmed with a big old knife to fit around the wheel wells. I then hold the toppers together with a fitted sheet & mattress sheet clips. I have 4x AGM batteries under where the back row of seats were. They are charged via the main battery when on the move. When I stop, I have a switch that splits that disconnects the motor battery. When split, the camping battery can be completely discharged and car still starts when its time to leave.

The entire rig has been through several long cross country camping trips. Most recent Florida to the end of the Dempster Highway.

cmc3 This is amazing! That's exactly what I was looking for. So basically removing the 3rd row does provide a lot of extra space, as well as significant weight reduction?
So far I removed 2 of the 2nd row seats and they were unbelievably heavy.
Would you have approx. dimensions of the space you got after removing the 3rd row?
Thank you so much for sharing this!
