Hey guys, Expy noob here. Just picked up my first 2000 xlt 4wd today. After taking it out to dinner (I paid) i noticed that when I drive near other cars or curbs or walls I can hear a noise that sounds like its coming from the front passenger side wheel. Its not a grinding or a clicking...the best way I can describe it is a faint dinner bell ringing. I tried popping her in neutral, turning on the 4wd, turning the wheel side to side, and even going in reverse. Nothing changes the sound.

I'm hoping its just a loose brake dust shield rubbing up against the rotor. any input is greatly appreciated.

Welcome. Pull off the center hub cap and see if there are loose retaining clips.

Check your sway bar in the front. It sounds like you need a swaybar repair kit. Vey easy, inexpensive fix.
