Ross, all the 5 channel amps that I am aware of have a dedicated sub channel (the 5th channel). The only large amps that are more than 4 channels that don't have a dedicated sub channel is the extreme high end Soundstream amps (not the Di Vinci, but the next one down). BUt, that is going into amps on a completely different scale than we are talking about here. Granted, I would love to get my hands on a Di Vinci amp.

Ross, look at the Di Vinci amps and then tell me if you have expensive tastes. You can pick up a used Da Vinci for around $10,000. Then you would still need to take the amp to a plater to have the previous owners name removed off of the amp so you can have yours put on. But then, you are getting a custom built amp with matched components. So, you can't get much better than that.

DR3W, not out of diamonds, but they are gold plated. You can only special order them as Soundstream imprints your name into the amp and states that you have amp #XXXX. The amp is custom built and has matched components. So, to make the one amp, they may go through 100 boards to find an input board that matches an amp board. Then they will go through another 100 boards to find the next board. As you can imagine, this takes a lot of time. BUt, the sound you get out of the amp is next to perfect.
