You did not answer the question. Is there a quantifiable benefit?

Yes I did...maybe it wasn't the answer you were looking for. Kinda starting to get annoyed with this pattern from you. Last I checked, this is the 4th Gen Area, not only do you own a 3rd Gen, but a 5.4 3rd Gen(2 Motors removed from the 2nd Gen 3.5 in the 4th Gen), and you acuse me of not answering a question to your satisfaction on it.

My explanation was spot on...I will be moving on now.

In my experience, even the smart mechanics who end up working for dealerships, have their hand forced to void out-of-pocket warranty work whenever possible.

Still - I guess in almost any scenario I can imagine, I would have time to remove the catch-can before taking it in for any major warranty work.

You are not wrong, but when you call them out on it, they back down most of the time. You would have to have a REALLY bad service department with a really bad Service Manager to deny you work because a Catch Can was installed. Obviously if you damaged something during the install, that is completely different.

You could also check with them before you did it, to see if they have a problem with it. Mine had ZERO issue with it. Mention that it is a Brand name kit, not a no name Ebay/Amazon kit.

whatever. my question asked for a quantity. period. you certainly don't have to answer, but you don't get to reword my question to let you avoid any embarrassment when you get called on it. You also don't get to decide where I should or should not post or ask questions. My question was not related to generation, again, you're just trying to avoid answering.
you did not answer the question. if you don't know, just say so.
bottom line, is you're as much a ******** artist as anyone here.

Kinda starting to get annoyed with this pattern from you - I will be moving on now.

Yep, Tons of ********, no good information....

I told you the info that matters. Whether it was what you wanted to hear.

I know the value of a Catch Can on a EcoBoost, because of the risk of deposits because of the decrease in fuel washing the intake valves because of direct injection.

I explained how your 5.4(PS not found in these 4th Gens) would benefit less.

You could read one of the MANY threads on here about Catch Cans if you wanted to learn more...Thanks for adding Zero value to the thread yet again...

Mine arrived today. Looking forward to installing this weekend. Thanks again @LokiWolf .

Only tip I really have for you is if you want the ability to return to stock take your time with getting the factory hoses off. The connectors can be a little annoying. Sometimes they release easy, sometimes they want to be difficult. Enjoy!

Yeah, because having oil going into the intake is a great thing. I’d hold out for the hard data too.

Plenty of hard data on the DI motors...hold on, not hard data, hard deposits. There I go getting my words mixed up again...or is that just more ********.

I haven’t had a Port Injected vehicle in 15 years...Well not until this 4th Gen Expedition with the 2nd Gen 3.5 and it dual injectors per cylinder. So I really haven’t looked at the intake deposits on an only Port Injected vehicle in a while.

Seen many Audi, VW, and first Gen 3.5’s though, and helped some get them cleaner, and then a catch can installed to prevent it.
