It seems it was just yesterday we purchased this truck lol! Well I had noticed the window going fairly slow the last few days but today I heard a crackly marble like noise then no go. I could hear the motor but the rest was grinding. I'm not much of a fix it guy but I said the he11 with it and took that door apart.
After some noob inspection I can determine the motor is still good. After more inspection I can say some metal cables attached to it are no good. 1 goes up and one goes down from the motor area. Cables seem to be of a stainless steal strand and they are very dusty. The one that goes up looks ok but the one that goes down is frayed. It has jammed the spindle that attaches to the motor but I took it apart and now it is free to move.
I will assume this item that needs replacing is called a window regulator? I wonder if a local shop sells it for a reasonable price or if I should go online for it? I would go get one at this moment but I'm currently working nights(12hr shifts) and it's way past my bed time lol.
Can someone direct me how to properly remove/install a window regulator on my truck?
Thanks!
