I have a black 2017 Expedition EL Limited that I bought last year and I noticed that the EcoBoost emblem on the tailgate has partially fallen off. The silver part is still attached, but the "label" part with the words is missing. Now I have a rectangular silver bar with nothing on it. The dealer wants $95 to replace it. Does anyone have any suggestions on where I can replace the missing part of the emblem only without spending that much money? Or has anyone removed theirs and has pictures you can post? Thanks for your help.

I'd vote for removal. Debadged looks pretty clean. I'd do it to my 03 if the paint wouldnt likely be darker underneath just due to the age. It's pretty easy with the stick on emblems. Quick youtube for some diy tips and you'll have it done in a few minutes.

To each their own, but I agree with you. When I had my liftgate replaced for bubbling paint, I had them leave off the XLT and ecoboost emblems.

I don't like those minor emblems, dealer badges, bumper stickers, school magnets (not that they'd stick to Aluminum), etc... I did keep the Ford Oval as its absence would stand out in the molding. I do wish the big "Expedition" logo in the rear liftgate chrome trim was removable. But its not that bad and I'm going to spend any $$$ trying to change it.

A bit off topic but I was surprised that mine has no 4x4 or AWD emblem.

The Expeditions have less badging than the pickups for some reason. That being said my 2007 is still plastered with oem badges and it doesn’t need any more. It has Expedition EL badges on the front doors and one on liftgate. Advancetrac RSC badge, Eddie Bauer, there may be more I’m not thinking of. An equivalent 2007 F-150 in addition has two “5.4 3V Triton” and two “4X4” badges of varying variety.

Don't get me wrong I'm glad for the minimal badging.

I put those ecobeast decals on my front doors similiar to how the F150s have them. They are a "bubble" sticker (domed and oem looking, not just vinyl) and they've held up well. I put a red/chrome 3.5L TWIN TURBO emblem beneath the ecoboost one on the Hatch.

Personally I like the emblems and decals, a lot of people are unaware they put the turbo motor in the gen 3 expedition, and a visual reminder that doesn't involve my walking away from their riced Honda civic at a stop light is sometimes nice.

The only engine badges I’ve really liked on the Fords is the 6.2 badges on the Raptor and Limited F-150s....they could have been a bit smaller though. I’m not a fan of the leafs on the EcoBoost or Flex Fuel emblems.

Last time I was in Ecuador, I noted that locals were drilling and pop riveting the emblems on their cars.

The I saw a '64 Rambler drive by covered with dozens of other cars' emblems.

They steal them and put 'em all on their cars.

Not a fan of the 6.7 diesel badge either, it’s the size of a wheel. Ford has cut down on the badges a lot in the last few years.

I don’t mind having the EB badge, but if I could change it, I’d swap it for a 4WD badge...maybe. I’d have to find one that looked right. I’ve seen the Explorers have one that says ecoboost/4wd. Or maybe just pull it all together.

On my 2016, I do really enjoy the way they did the Platinum badging, especially against black paint. The typography and individualized letters looks very classy imo.

On the 2018s+, they made the door Platinum badging about the same as before, but decided to significantly downsize the hatch badge and hide it in the lower left corner. I don’t get why they did that....almost like it’s downplaying the fact that it’s a Platinum trim.

And why did FoMoCo decide to flip the trims on the F150s and make the Limited the top of the line again, OVER platinum? I mean sure it makes word sense, Limited = more exclusive, but Platinum is top tier everywhere else. So why flip it? Ok I’m off the soapbox.

Go to Amazon they have all kinds of stuff. $ 19.99 and up, my cut off was $ 29.95 for the 3.5L Twin-Turbo along with, LOL, EcoBeast 4X4 Emblems. Then I just saw this for $ 21.95
81UkxVolLRL._AC_UL480_QL65_ML3_.jpg

This is an example of the EcoBeast emblem, 2 for 35.99 or 1 for a bit more than 15 bucks.

71ISGQU9VuL._AC_UL480_QL65_ML3_.jpg

For less than 8 bucks they offer this.

41GNPgYaSgL._AC_UL480_QL65_ML3_.jpg

Less than 7 bucks there is this, which actually is the better one. No plastic, no film overlay, all metal, baked on enamel paint, and clearcoat.

51BSyCyeMaL._AC_UL480_QL65_ML3_.jpg

At least its what everybody thinks is in mine, till they try to pass. Then the 5.8L Quad-Turbo, balanced, blueprinted, race tuned, Matech C - Cosworth, obscenely modified V-8 snaps to, growls awake, when my right foot gives it a firm kick! It sure keeps them back there, back, back there, way, WAY, back there! Where did that little plastic car slide back behind us, where's it **** off too momma?! Flea? What flea?! Oh, I see, that flea, way, way, way, way back there now! Huh momma?! Thank God Ford thought ahead and put 35 gallon gas tanks in the 16 E.L.'s., it sucks it up like there is only 18 gallons onboard, 9 MPG on a flat, good day, wind at your back. Takes an extra 30 or 45 minutes to finesse that additional 3.6 or so gallons in after the pump shuts off the second time. But the look on those, think they are slick, middle age crisis Corvette Owners, as the Whale doesn't move over, it moves quickly, abruptly away, 70 to 140 in 3.2, mass in motion, what can I say! Poor things try so hard to catch up, their faces! Well, that look is just PRICELESS! LOL, ROF! Ok, that's my ha, ha, ha, for tonight folks!

Seriously though check out Amazon, check prices carefully, I have seen the same vendor, offer the same thing, for three different prices. The reviews are also important, sadly, there are some identical looking, (in Amazon photos), emblems made in Chinese knock off shops others have said don't stand the test of time. Happy hunting.
