Driving home from a snowmobiling trip last night and I noticed my truck smelled like rotten eggs. My old man says he thinks it could be that a cat is plugged up. Does this sound right to you guys? I don't really want to hollow them out if I can help it because I already don't have a muffler, so back pressure would drop significantly. Also my fuel economy has been in the ******* so a plugged cat could make sense. Let me know your thoughts fellas. Thanks in advance.

I would say either its running very rich or you are having cat issues.

Okay then I am back to my bad O2's. It has never smelled like that before, so I just wanted to make sure it wasn't a new issue, but if it can be caused by running too rich then that is probably my problem. I notice no lack of power either. Thanks Tom.

not running a muffler will give you crappy fuel mileage too, but your prob does sound like the cat. I have had the same prob come up on several of my Fleet buses in the past.
