Electronic Throttle Control and more

well the check Electronic Throttle Control message came up and now the car won't shift to any gears but reverse would this be related? or would that be the transmission only. It blew a transmission hose so the garage fixed that and put new fluid in about one month ago this time when i took it to them they are saying the fluid is dirty would this be the problem for not shifting?

Now about that message it comes up when you rev the car in the drive gear and overdrive starts flashing check engine comes up at the same time. the car had a misfire so the plug and coil was changed 2 times still has the misfire. what is going on?

its a 2005 expedition about 160000 kilometers 4x4 limited

What are the codes it's giving?

When the hose bust, did they flush out the old fluid and put in new fluid?

i don't think they did now that all this is going on they said no codes on just that the trans is running a little hot. i think its time for a new garage does this sound like a broken transmission.

Also, try cleaning the throttle butterfly (the flap that allows air into the throttle body). There's good How tos over at F150online. I know sometimes the butterfly gets crud in there, not allowing it to idle properly.

Does the check engine light stay on or does it just blink? I would think a code would remain. Yea, I would see what another mechanic has to say.

yes it blinked then stayed on and went off after the car restarted but would still did not move so my question is is there some kind of fail safe that won't let the trans shift with that message on. or if the fluid is dirty it wont let it? also the check engine is still for the misfire thats what the code said cylinder 3 so i am trying to find out if this can all be connected.
