Does anyone know if an App is available that reads all of the engine data such as OBD Link that can be added to the center screen? Will the center screen link to an OBD II Bluetooth device or can the main screen display data tapped from the OS?

That center screen has Google play.

Lets play...

Following. I have the JeepAA app for my Cherokee that displays that stuff on the radio. Would be nice to have something for the Expedition when we're towing the boat.

Well,

I just got home from being away, and had some time to Play with "Google Play" and found the Play App that we get on our screens is not so ...Playful.

The Play App installed on our Android powered center screen is confined to apps approved by Ford. Some of this is no doubt for safety reasons but come on, it is Really that limited as to what you can download?

If I could get OBDLink installed on it, I could have all the gauges and so much more without tapping FORscan.

I am not giving up so easy on this, but for now it's research and hoping someone has some knowledge that will accelerate the process.

Answer:

Device - OBDII MX+
Software - OBDLink App

You can find the website here:

OBD2 Scan Tool

You can get the tool on amazon and the App on Google Play.

What you have to realize is that the Google play and Android Auto that is in your Ford is limited so that it is safe for the vehicle and others that are in your danger zone.

I am hoping they let up on a few restrictions and allow us to go deeper.

I want the PID for transmission fluid temp, Oil Temp (Jacket water is a close match), oil pressure and current gear. At the moment all of this is in the works but I don't have it yet. Some person in the software world of Ford is going to drop us some candy at some point.

As it is right now, getting the tool and setting up the App, connect to phone, open Android auto. Easy day.
