Error message

I know my parking aides are out on my expedition...but I also get this message on my screen and I am not sure what it means. Any ideas? I only picked it up last night. It happens when I start driving away from a light or stop sign or when stopping.

Yes, it has an appt for the park aides already. I wonder if this is related or something else.

Looks like the gps cant locate ur vehicle. I guess the cameras use gps and needs gps location to do the overhead view of ur car. Could be wrong.

That’s related to the park aids. I had the same message when mine were acting up. It’ll get addressed when the other issue is fixed.

That’s it. Your parking aids r out!! That’s the top down view screen to help u park. The red x on the top of the Expy is a warning light which means the self parking system is inop.

Oh, and it does it going to and from a stop because the system does a little check of itself at 10mph (or thereabouts).

Thank you! That’s makes me feel a little better. I have the same error message on the dash like you do too. Hope the fix it on the first try. I didn’t want to pick it up with an issue but they told me I had to take it home first. Hmmm....

On the left side of your dash pic by the tach...are the numbers 10 9 8 ....transmission gears? If so, how do you get them up there?

I would tell you the fix was easy, but I have no idea. It did it for about 10 minutes randomly after a 5 hour road trip. I shut the vehicle down at a stop light and all was well when it came back on. That was a month and 2000 miles ago and it’s been right as rain since. (Knocking on wood)

So hopefully yours is that easy too...haha!

Mine does it always. It hasn’t functioned yet.

Press the + button underneath your gear selector knob.

I would not have accepted delivery of the vehicle until this was fixed. There is no reason the dealer should not have this fixed before you signed papers......unless they have tried already to fix it and can't figure it out....and are hoping you will take it to a different dealer and let it be their headache....

Have my other car so it isn’t a big deal to drop it off. I also got them to detail
The car bc is pretty gross...from sitting on the lot for a bit. It is getting that done tomorrow too.

One more thing....make sure the screamers (parking aids) are clean. Sometimes they tend to not work if they’re not clean......

They are clean. They “washed” the vehicle for me before delivery and it didn’t change their functionality. It’s funny though...my odyssey had an issue of an overly sensitive parking aid that would sound anytime it had rain on it. Finally they replaced it...but they kept telling me it was dirty. I kept explaining to them that I would wipe it off all the time hoping to stop it. It was just fixed about two weeks ago. Woohoo!

Well, it has taken two days for the dealer to possibly diagnose the issue. The sensor is bad and the wiring harness appears to also be bad. The parts have been ordered. Could take til middle of next week to get the harness so I guess it will be there for a while. So I will be there a week...and I will have had it at home 48 hours. Lol. Hopefully they have diagnosed this correctly!

All the new Expys have built in police radars. It means that there is one near by, watch out! LOL
