So, haven't driven my Expedition in a few weeks.... go to start it up, and the brake pedal feels rock hard, after I push 'start/stop', it flashes these errors on the screen.

* Engine Coolant Over Temperature
* See Manual
* Service AdvanceTrac
* Blind Spot System Fault
* Cross Traffic System Fault
* Full Accessory Power Active
* Drive Control Malfunction Service Required
* Hill Descent Control Fault
* Park Brake Limited Function Service Required
* Hill Start Assist Not Available
* Memory Recall Not Permitted While Driving

and they repeat...

When I popped the hood, I did notice some new acorns on top of the engine cover (sure sign of a visit by Rodentus), but didn't see any chewing. I charged the battery, didn't help, I also disconnected the battery for around 10 minutes, didn't help.

Extra fun, the Exp. is parked directly in front of my camp trailer, and in a place where a tow truck is going to have a heck of a time getting it out.

Oh, and I can't get Forscan, either Lite or Windows, working. It worked before, but apparently Forscan got kicked off the Android Play store due to being Russian, and the Windows version, which I used to test about a year ago can't find my USB dongle, ugh.

You charged the battery - but it may already be damaged beyond an acceptable charge due to the discharge (and age).

Have you tried a new battery (or borrow one from someone and try it)?

its a 2 year old top quality battery (a Deka Intimidator AGM). it was NOT deeply discharged, as the dashboard etc turned on without any 'brownout' before I put it on the charger.

if the computers refuse to cooperate, is there any way to force the Exp into neutral so the car can be moved/towed ? It appears to be in Park, and 2H.

Don't underestimate the damage that the rodents can do where it's difficult to see. I have a friend who has fed 3 modern vehicles to squirrels and I've fed numerous trailers to field mice. Much of the damage is done where it can only be viewed from below the vehicle. We tend to think if we see the acorns/walnuts, etc. on upper horizontal surfaces that that is where the damage would be visible....my experience is that is never the case....The damage tends to be more visible from underneath. Good luck, my friend. If it is rodent damage, the road back is a difficult one.

been there, done that. lost a 1993 Mercedes 300CE Cabriolet (convertible) to rodents. wood rats got in there and made a mess of the main harnesses.

And that's not good. My buddy just was visiting his sister in the Dallas area and found issues with his F150. Rodent ate his wiring harness. Over $1000 later he was back up and running. Hope yours is cheaper.

I'm gonna round up a couple big dudes, and someone with a pickup truck, so I can back my ~4500 lb camper trailer out after replacing its jack foot with a jack wheel. The borrowed truck will let me then move the trailer to a suitable parking place. once its out of the way, then a tow truck with a wheel lift can get in and pick up the rear of my Expedition and pull it out and tow it to the shop, which is only a mile and a half from my house..

I'll give that a try tomorrow, but it says "NOTE: The following steps should be used when the engine will crank but not start." ,,, my engine isn't even trying to crank.

Correct, but right under that, it says:

NOTE: If the vehicle has a discharged battery, an external power source is required. If the battery discharges while in Stayin Neutral Mode, the Park Lock Pawl Solenoid will release and transmission will return to Park. Do not tow the vehicle in this mode.

So, you'll need to charge up the battery to give it some juice first. Might be a good idea to leave it on a charger overnight to the SoC up so it doesn't return to park.

Hmm. followed that, pushed start with no brake, then pressed the brake pedal as hard as I can (it hardly moves), and then pushed the throttle to the floor, the gear shift knob is locked in P and won't turn.

BUT. once I get a crew of big dudes here, who can help me push my trailer out of the way, a tow truck can pick up the truck from behind with a wheel lift.

SHop found wood rat nests under the battery + fuse panel trays, and under the intake manifold. they found a handful of chomped wires including canbus to the engine control module, spliced them back, and its starting, yeah. they want to replace the main carpet as there's rodent debris under the back seats I never saw, as well as behind the side panels in the cargo bay, and urine stains in those areas.
