So today I talked to endurance again and my dealer. Endurance says they approved $3100 bc that is for the TSB 25 -2132 but my dealer insists that endurance says they must replace the entire trans for them to pay out. I asked dealer “why can’t I do the TSB??” They said they “don’t do TSB only full replacement”? That was a red flag to me. I’m calling back in the morning to speak with service manager. At this point I almost believe endurance more than dealer.
I bought a new 2015 Expedition Limited 4x4, and a Ford premium ESP.
At 70,*** miles, the transmission began to act up and I took it to my dealer. While test driving the vehicle, the transmission failed for the technician.
The technician met me in the waiting room and told me that there were numerous failure codes and the only option was to install a new transmission. I gave my verbal approval. He said he would nofity the service advisor, so I waited.
After some time, the service writer appeared and said that he now realized I had a Ford ESP (purchased at that dealership). He said they were not allowed to replace the transmission, but would be required to remove, disassemble, and rebuild the transmission under my Ford ESP. No Ford TSB was in effect that I was aware of.
The repairs took three months due to Ford’s lack of parts availability. A new transmission was readily available.
It was VERY clear that the dealership intended to upsell me a new transmission until they realized there was a Ford ESP in effect. Then, the “only option” to replace the transmission evaporated and a rebuild was in order.
This scenario sounds very similar to what you are experiencing. I don’t have an answer, other than to recommend an attorney - which will cost you more money and probably delay the process.
I wish you luck and hope the matter is resolved to your satisfaction.
