Not recommended by FORSCAN or any of us really. The hardware handoff for the USB has caused issues in the past for others. I do Tech for a living, not coming at this from an uneducated perspective. I use Parallels on my MBAir, and Fusion also on my Mini. I use a Windows laptop for FORSCAN and FDRS. It is older, and relatively basic, and it is all you need. Heck the $349 special at best buy will do a GREAT job.

Heck, here is one for $229.

Less risk of damaging a $1000+ device working with it in your car.

Bootcamp, because then your computer is a real Windows PC. I've never gotten the hardware to work from macOS with Fusion or WINE.

Well, no, but those don't have Bootcamp. The OP specifically is asking about Bootcamp, so obviously he's got an Intel.
Dude, I am well aware of that. MANY don't realize that Bootcamp is not a thing anymore, and mention it because they saw some article on it from the past. I answer these questions daily...

Running FORSCAN on any Mac even via Bootcamp is not supported and not recommended. Before you say I am anti Mac, I am typing this from an M2 Macbook Air...

Want to do FORSCAN and be successful, buy a cheap Windows laptop, install FORSCAN, and enjoy.
