If you're saying they're identical throughout the many years then why dont you go pull one off of a junked expedition in a junk yard, then clean it up, sand it a little and throw some new black paint on and use that one instead. I cant imagine the junk yard asking for more than $40-$50 for it

It's worth way more in scrap metal i suspect

Hi @HawkX66 . Did you start this project? I'm trying to find some intel on how to do a custom body lift on my 2017 EL. I just need to know what wires, hoses, and mechanical parts (steering column?) pull when lifting the body up about 1-2 inches off the frame. Would you happen to know this? I'll be following this thread too. Very interested in how this goes for you. Thanks.

I haven't started yet. I decided to wait until my new garage is finished. I'm building a 40x60 with a lift. I think that will make life much easier... The garage should be completed by spring if all goes right.

I'd love to have a lift, but I park in a parking garage for work. My 07 Expy just barely touches the ceiling in a couple of spots.... No lifts for me lol

How’s the 07 rolling? Did you end up finishing feathering in and painting rocker panels? At this point mine aren’t getting done this season, snow is flying. They aren’t terrible, but they are on the list.

Nah, my 07 isn't on the list right now. The rockers are solid and have some paint on them and that's why matters to me for the time being. Once I get my garage built and the new frame under my 17 I might do something with it. At 215k on the clock and limited time, I think I'll probably just keep it running and see where it takes me. I just had to do front calipers and rotors on it unfortunately. One of the calipers froze when I was in Yonkers picking up the frame. I pinched off the line, freed up the caliper and drove back to Virginia like that... Fun stuff lol It wasn't a hard job, I just didn't want to do it and I didn't want to have to buy parts for it.

Mine is at 171k, as long as it remains economical I’ll keep doing maintenance/ repairs and rolling it along. Still runs and drives like new, looks it too. I’ll be looking to upgrade soonish but I’ll likely keep the 07’ Expy as well for various reasons. If another expy prob a 14’, also wouldn’t mind a half ton.

With the HD towing option, our Expys are basically a 3/4 truck. They're great rigs and if I didn't have the 17 to slide into once I fix it, I'd be doing a lot more with the 07. Like yours, mine runs and drives excellent. I just know at 215k, I'll be having to throw money at it before very long. I'd rather off load it before that point. If I didn't have the 17, it wouldn't be a question.

I’ve got a lot into mine. Put a lot of new parts in. Some was needed and some was just busy work. Did all new brakes and rotors, overall tune up (plugs, boots, air filter, fuel filter), transmission service, tranfer case service, new driveshaft and U-joints assembly, replaced both vacuum hubs along with solonoid and check valve, replaced rear wheel hub/ bearing assemblies, muffler, replaced A/C compressor along with belt and tensioner off the top of my head.......yada yada you get the idea.
