Front Bumper Cap Next to Lower Vent

On the front bumper, there's a cover that looks like it is removable. It's only on one side. Anyone know what's behind it?

It's part of the adaptive cruise control system. I was just reading through the manual for something unrelated and saw a diagram of this piece.

When I was last under mine, both of those areas are jam packed with sensors, wiring, etc. Would have been a great place for some flush mount LED's.

It's the radar for collision assist and adaptive cruiser control, as noted. It is a quite sensitive device. Even a minor bump can potentially misalign the thing and you will get errors, and in the worst case, cruise control will be completely disabled.
