I am having an issue with the Front Passenger window the dealer says the repair is over $600 to replace the "regulator". I hate that I cannot trust the dealer but well I don't. Has anyone had similar issues? The window starts to go down then there is a crunching noise and then it will not go back up or goes up lopsided and slow. I'm a handy guy and wondering if this is something I could do myself or if its something I should trust the dealer with.

I am about to replace my regulator in my 08. Look at YouTube, pretty simple and the regulator itself is $100 give or take. I already replaced the motor in the drivers side.

It's a regulator.

Original part should be <$100, knockoff should be like $30ish, and the other $500 is for dealership coffee fees

PS o'reilly usually sells generic korea/china parts at a +150% markup

I used this You Tube video and replaced my passenger side regulator. Very easy just carefully follow his directions.

I used the same video as marlinpruett and it was a POC. He even shows you where all the screws are so the little hidden f*$&#r doesn't hold you up.

Keep in mind this video is for 3rd gen (07’-14’) Expeditions. Yours might be slightly different being a 2015.

Just saying so you don’t order the 07-14’ part as that’s what is likely provided by Brian in the link.

Thank you, that’s more or less my point, If you look up the regulator online for the 2015 Expy it looks more like the regulator for the F150.

Back before I knew about the Forum or even Youtube ... My 2003 went through 2 window regulators ... At $400 apiece to repair at a shop. It was like $200 parts and $200 labor I think. Probably doubled the cost of the part (I hate that) and labor is expensive. That's their business.

If it happens again , will repair myself and save $$

How come the Expy STILL has ******* window regulators?

I’ll try to hunt down a part # to be sure. The earlier 3rd gens share more with the F-250 for little parts like this vs the F-150

It's a very easy job and very common on the 07-17 style doors. Those 10 years are pretty much identical from the hood and fenders back.

7-17 Expeditions are identical. Grill area and drive train are different. That's about it other than electronics.
