Like Mr Sticker said, across terminals of the fuses involved with gauge. Sometimes a bit of corrosion on one terminal can keep power from flowing through to the circuit, and item it's powering. You want to be 100 % sure before dropping tank, and replacing that sending unit and pump.

And I have misplaced my meter during our move so I will snag another tomorrow and let yall know.
