My wife was having problems accurately parking our Expy in our garage. She would either come to close to the wall - or too far from it. She was frustrated to the point that she refused to park it - she would leave it in the driveway and I would pull it in at night. I tried mounting a ping pong ball from the ceiling - but it got in the way when the truck was out of the garage (I actually ripped it down after the 20th time it tapped me in the head!) I bought a pretty cool gadget at our local Costco for $15. The Auto Park 2 Laser Parking Guide! It is powered by the light socket in your garage door opener and shines a laser beam when the opener is activated. I positioned the beam so that it hits the front of the dash when the truck is parked properly. It works great. It comes with 2 lasers so that you can use it for both sides of a two car garage.

I had the same problem. I bought a much similar device called ezpark from garagetoys.com. The only differance is that it has a trigger that goes on the garage door rail instead of using the bulb socket in the opener.

I always park the truck backwards in the garage so that it's easier to to drive out (our garage is at a right angle to the driveway). Now, backing into a garage is tricky.

I use a plank of wood already set at a pre-determined distance from the wall and on the ground. When I hit the plank of wood, I know I'm done.

Yes, it's very low tech, but it gets the job done.
